The best! I live in Beverly Hills, CA and have a Kohler RES30 residential generator installed since
2007.
However, I have never been able to identify a reliable service provider to maintain the generator. They were all overpriced and/or did not do proper maintenance. I've been through a few. Once I found the generator housing (it's big) completely full with leaves and the oil dipstick broken. Clear evidence that they never even opened the housing during their "service". For all I know it could have broken down as there were no way to tell if oil was low.
Recently the generator just stopped. I searched high and low until I found California Generator. Their site showed they were Kohler experts, so I thought I'd give them a shot even though they're located in Upland 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive away.
Mitch came out and realized gas was not flowing and determined a part was defective. His company ordered the part and when he returned a few days later to install the part there STILL was a problem. Turned out a small "plug" had come loose and disappeared. A needle in a haystack, Mitch found it and re-installed it. Since he had already installed the new part, he left the $300 part in and didn't charge me for it. They were extremely fair in pricing the 2 visits and a total of 6 - 8 hours of driving time.
Best of all, I know the generator is in good hands going forward!
